Description

PEORIA (March 23, 2015) – It’s the race against child abuse.

Commemorating April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Pediatric Resource Center is raising awareness and much needed funds in the fight against child abuse and neglect with the 3rd Annual Kick Abuse at Kickapoo Creek Winery 5K Trail Run/Walk on Saturday, April 18.

All proceeds go toward helping the PRC provide medical exams and case management services to child victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect. Last year, the PRC evaluated a record number of children – more than 430 kids! Help stop this trend.

Register online at www.go.illinois.edu/kickabuse5k or by calling 309-624-9595. Cost is $30 per person or $25 per student. Packet pick-up will take place from 4-7 p.m. April 17 at Great Clips at Metro Centre in Peoria or on race day beginning at 7:30 a.m. The run/walk takes place on a grass trail through the vineyards of Kickapoo Creek Winery. Interested volunteers for race day should call 309-624-9595.
